I saw this awesome blazer in the Urban Outfitters early fall collection, and really liked it. But because of the price, I picked a piece of outerwear that I thought would coordinate with more outfits. But. Then. I found a basically identical plaid blazer (with cropped sleeves might I add) for only 4 bucks at the Goodwill on Saturday, and knew it would be super easy to recreate the original inspiration. This is another simple tutorial, enjoy and feel free to leave comments or questions!
1_I started out by changing out the button on my blazer. I opted for an interesting gold one. Even though my studs are silver, I decided to use a gold button so that I had the option to accessorize with either gold or silver jewelry when I wore it. 2_There was also a button on each sleeve. I removed these buttons and replaced them with 3 studs on each sleeve to provide a small yet interesting detail. 3_Here's a shot of the interior of the jacket after I had completed 2 rows of studs. Check out this image from a past DIY I did for, what I think, is the best way to stud. Also, my blazer had shoulder pads that I had to remove before studding because I couldn't get the prongs all the way through the padding. 4_I did two rows of studs on each shoulder to give it a finished look. And we're done! I hope this tutorial inspired you to make your own creation.
