Wildfox falls into the category of "I am obsessed with but don't actually own anything from" brands. That's why when I spotted this tank dress on Instagram a few days ago, I knew I had to recreate it. I'm very into the aztec print trend and when I found a plain white tank in my craft drawer, I couldn't hold back!
1. The supplies you will need are: a long white tank (mine is an XL men's tank from H&M given to me by a friend when he cleaned out his closet), black fabric paint, a paintbrush, and a canvas.
As a side note, I was confident enough in my painting skills that I did this freehand. If you aren't you can make your own stamps and do it that way. I have a tutorial on craft foam stamped tops here !
2. I stretched my tank over a plain canvas to create some structure while I painted. You could also do this with cardboard, but this was my first time with a canvas and it was great!
3. Begin painting (or stamping) your design on. Start in the center and work outwards in order to keep things symmetrical.
4. Continue applying your design. If you are finding that the paint isn't fluid enough, mix in a little bit of water.
And here is the finished product. I am just too pleased with this because it is so similar to the original and well, I saved $86!
Stay tuned in the next few days because I am going to style this tank in an outfit post as soon as it stops raining!
