Yesterday I shared my paintings from Sweden + Finland, and as promised, today I'm sharing my photo diary! I'm having a lot more fun editing photos than I used to because I found some free Photoshop actions online that I love, so now I enjoy the process! In addition, editing these photos was a bit bittersweet for me because I only have one travel break left [next week], but have decided to spend it Copenhagen--so this was my last travel adventure around Europe! I can't complain though, I have seen more of Europe than I ever thought I would this year, and I'm pretty excited to experience Copenhagen sans-schoolwork. Anyways, I hope you enjoy these!
Senate Square, Helsinki // Soaking up the sun!
Gamla Stan // A historic public square in Stockholm!
Stockholm // Super pretty waterfront that reminded me of Copenhagen, but on a larger scale.
Stockholm // View of the city at night, as seen from the top of a cliff where we had an amazing vegetarian buffet dinner.
Stockholm // The Public Library, which you may recognize from this painting.
Helsinki // Rock Church, an incredible dome supported by natural stone and covered with a copper ceiling. One of my favorite sites on this trip!
Stockholm // Elsa looking quite Danish in all black outside the Stockholm Public Library, which you may recognize from this outfit post!
Helsinki // Being surrounded by more nature than usual was a nice change of scenery
Helsinki // Hanging out in the sunshine sketching Hvittråsk, the family residence of architecture team Saarinen, Gesellius, and Lindgren
Helsinki // The scenery outside an Alvar Aalto church. See what I mean about the nature? It was just unreal.
Helsinki // As a long-time admirer of Steven Hohl's work, it was so amazing to finally see his work in person for the first time. This is inside his Chiasma Contemporary Art Museum, which I loved!
And finally, some really fun shots inside the Chiasma. This was our last day of the trip and the night before we had experienced a traditional naked Finnish sauna, so we were super refreshed. It was also just a warm and happy day...I think we all agreed it was our favorite 24 hours of the trip!
Which European city are you most anxious to visit one day? Let me know! x, Paige.
