"The Skate" Deck Art Show at PMA Gallery, San Luis Obispo

Hey babes! One of my goals for 2015 has been to do more shows. And I'm talking both gallery shows + craft fairs. So I was very excited to be asked to display a deck this past Friday at PMA Gallery!

The first Friday of every month in San Luis Obispo is called Art After Dark. Retail stores, salons, and restaurants display local artists, have food, and everyone is invited in.

My roommates and I walked over to the gallery that night and enjoyed the show! Have I mentioned how awesome it is to live downtown? I am definitely going to miss being walking distance from such cool spots once I move back to Arizona this summer!

I was so impressed by all of the art in the show. Everyone presented really impressive + interesting pieces. And how cool is that 3D one on the left?! It definitely encouraged me to think outside the box a bit more!

This is a better shot of the deck I chose to display. My friends have been asking me what my favorite deck I've painted is, and I think this is definitely top 3!

Funny story, we had to name our piece for the deck show. I honestly never name my pieces, and I find it SO hard. So I brainstormed and came up with "Splitting Sunset" which I think is kinda silly, but also kinda cool.

Big thanks to PMA Gallery for hosting the show, and to Kevin Varner for coordinating the event! It was a fun night!

P.S. If you're interested, Splitting Sunset is available in my shop, silly name and all!
