DIY_Printed Giftwrap

holidiy 4 intro I have made printed gift wrap in past years, and wanted to make some more than was specifically customized for the person receiving the gift. I made a dreamcatcher inspired wrapping and also a music inspired paper. I have also made tags to really complete the look and add a special touch. I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

To create the feather print paper, I simply freehand painted some feathers onto craft paper with black acrylic paint. I suggest mixing the paint with a little water so that you can paint more freely.

For the dreamcatcher tag, I used a store bought round paper tag, and drew on the dreamcatcher pattern with an ink pen. I added some beads in red.

For the feathers, I used the ink pen to draw feathers onto the craft paper. I then simply cut them out and taped them to the back of the tag where I added the to/from message.

Here is how the gifts look wrapped! I finished them off with some red raffia for a rustic feel that matched the red beads.

For the music inspired paper, I used this large sheet music stamp that I had around from a past project from Michael's. Instead of using ink, I used the same acrylic paint and water mixture to create the pattern.

I repeated the stamp until I had a paper printed with music notes. You could also wrap a gift in sheet music!

For the customized tag, I folded a sheet of red paper in half lengthwise and sketched out an electric guitar. I cut this out, added the message, and attached to the gift!

Here is the music inspired wrapping! These packages were finished off with a festive plaid bow.

DSC_1076 With Christmas around the corner, it was time to pull out my favorite festive sweater that I picked up at an H&M sale last season for 10 bucks. With the weather not that cold in AZ, I decided to pair it with the summer staple--cutoff Levi's. These two items contrast, but I kind of like that about this look. I was headed to have lunch with my friend Courtney, so I added my studded combat boots to tie the whole outfit together and make it on trend!

DSC_1022 I'm finally back with a new outfit post, and even better, I am home in Arizona (I took the above photo in my backyard)! I'm loving how this outfit came together. I sometimes find it hard to style this denim vest because of the short crop, but pairing it with this long tunic was the perfect solution. After figuring out the silhouette, I wanted to add some polish so I accessorized with my sparkly Toms and some shiny details with my statement ring and the detailing on my clutch. These outfit can also be easily transformed for cooler weather by throwing a neutral colored hoodie under the vest!

On top of loving this outfit, I'm also proud about how inexpensive all of the pieces are! I encourage you to go thrifting and also to hold back on purchases sometimes until you can find a killer sale. Sometimes you'll get really lucky like I did with these Toms--they would normally retail for $54 dollars, but I found this pair at my local consignment store and paid for them with the credit I received from donating my old clothes!
