Soleri Sunset

IMG_5199 Another day, another dollar, another outfit. I've been wanting to wear this dress to work many times recently, but hesitated because the back has a large cutout. Today I threw on this oversized lace cardigan that I am obsessed with and was set! I thought that the two flowy pieces wouldn't work together, but the slight structure of lace material actually gives it some shape. As a bonus, it keeps me warm in my cold office! I finished off the look with a statement necklace, and then some sandals to keep look a little more summery and less serious.

I was out shopping today with my mom and we stopped on this great bridge over the canal in Scottsdale. The large silver structure you can see in the background is a bridge by Paolo Soleri. I used to think the design was an eyesore, but now it is growing on me. Soleri was a fascinating architect that recently passed away, and now I appreciate having a piece of his work so close to my home!

"She Doesn't Get It"

IMG_1432 As I mentioned in this post, I'm finding myself drawn to the bohemian look lately with the warm sun and spring blooms everywhere around me. Without compromising my personal style, today I mixed the boho with the edge. What is a mainly edgy outfit was changed up a bit with my aztec print cardigan that I got from a local surf shop my freshman year. I love spicing up something that I haven't worn forever in a new way!

The track for today's outfit is "She Doesn't Get It" by my all-time favorite band, The Format. They have provided my favorite tunes ever since I was introduced to them in middle school because they were local. Now broken up, but you can still listen to front-man Nate Ruess as the lead singer of Fun. Listen along below while you view!

I never get over how pretty my town is. I took these photos is a standard office parking lot a block over from my house, and yet this is the view next to it. You can see hills like this in any direction you look, and it never gets old!

"And Justice For All"

IMG_0729 If you watched the haul video I posted yesterday, you'll recognize this pretty dress from H&M that I picked up in Chicago over the weekend. I couldn't wait to style it so I decided to go for a dressy look at school today and wear it right away. As I mentioned in the video, my friend bought the same dress because we both loved it so much, and since great minds think alike, we coincidentally both wore it today to class! We were the butt of our friends jokes for the day, but it was pretty funny so we didn't mind haha.

Anyway, I styled this to edge up the very girly dress with some camo and my creepers. I chose this cardigan over a camo jacket, because I felt that this camoflauge pattern is a little toned down and set off the dress better than a brighter green pattern would.

The track for today's outfit post is "And Justice for All" by Metallica just because I had been listening to it while editing a video and got it stuck in my head. Listen along below while you view!

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post--especially since it's my first one in about a week! Also, sorry about the low quality of the photos. I was silly today and accidentally had my camera on the wrong setting. Better quality for tomorrow's outfit, promise!

OOTD_67: "Sink or Swim"

DSC_0059 After styling this knit camo cardigan casually in this outfit, I couldn't wait to dress it up as well. Today I paired it with some neutrals, this thrifted chambray top and my favorite leather skater skirt. I love how these three pieces came together, especially how the cardigan hangs over the skirt to tone it down for a school day.

Another highlight of this outfit is my new Jeffrey Campbell Litas! I picked these up at the Plato's Closet in AZ over the weekend for 38 bucks! They were originally marked 65, but I traded in my old clothes and got a 27 dollar credit subtracted off the shoes. I think this may be my best find of the year--and it's not even January yet!

The outfit track today is "Sink or Swim" by a great band, Close to Home. Listen along here while you view! DSC_0117
