DIY_Wildfox Inspired Aztec Tank

wildfox diy intro Wildfox falls into the category of "I am obsessed with but don't actually own anything from" brands. That's why when I spotted this tank dress on Instagram a few days ago, I knew I had to recreate it. I'm very into the aztec print trend and when I found a plain white tank in my craft drawer, I couldn't hold back!

wildfox diy steps

1. The supplies you will need are: a long white tank (mine is an XL men's tank from H&M given to me by a friend when he cleaned out his closet), black fabric paint, a paintbrush, and a canvas.

As a side note, I was confident enough in my painting skills that I did this freehand. If you aren't you can make your own stamps and do it that way. I have a tutorial on craft foam stamped tops here !

2. I stretched my tank over a plain canvas to create some structure while I painted. You could also do this with cardboard, but this was my first time with a canvas and it was great!

3. Begin painting (or stamping) your design on. Start in the center and work outwards in order to keep things symmetrical.

4. Continue applying your design. If you are finding that the paint isn't fluid enough, mix in a little bit of water.

And here is the finished product. I am just too pleased with this because it is so similar to the original and well, I saved $86!

Stay tuned in the next few days because I am going to style this tank in an outfit post as soon as it stops raining!

OOTD_89 + Haul Video!

DSC_0859 I have finally found a pair of camo skinnies! I was searching everywhere for some and I'm glad I waited because I really like the detailing on these ones from Forever 21. These pants are really lightweight which is going to be great for the warmer months ahead. Since there is a stripe down the side, I wanted to pair them with a dressier shoe for a sportswear look. These shoes have a bit of a heel so it achieved that for me, and I definitely had in mind some fancier camo look such as this one that I love!

OOTD_65: "Paradise"

DSC_0172 So today is the day I am en route back to California. As you're reading this, I'm probably on the plane wearing a flannel and leggings--not this outfit. However, I got these leggings for Christmas and was dying to style them right away. For school days I plan to wear them casually, but today I paired them with this spiked cutout dress I found at TJ Maxx. I thought these pieces went together well because the dress is a little on the short side and also doesn't compete with the leggings too much. Finally, how amazing is the spiked clutch? I got it as a gift from my mom, she knows me so well!

The track for today's outfit is "Paradise" by Coldplay. Soemthing about the intro and these leggings seemed to go together for me. Listen along here while you view!

I've had a great break being at home for a month, and am going to be a little homesick when I get back to school. However, I'm looking forward to layering pieces for the colder weather and all the fun plans I have for the next quarter with my friends and school!

This is what I wore to class yesterday and to dinner with my parents because they're in town! You might remember seeing this skirt in my first day of school outfit post (here) where I wore it a little more casually in the warmer weather. For this look I wore it with this sheer panel long sleeved tee that I found at TJ Maxx and some edgy gunmetal jewelry to add my style to the look.

for evening, i added this oversized black blazer for warmth and polish, and paired it will my glossy envelope clutch from Target. hope you're all having a great weekend!
