DIY_Wildfox Inspired Aztec Tank

wildfox diy intro Wildfox falls into the category of "I am obsessed with but don't actually own anything from" brands. That's why when I spotted this tank dress on Instagram a few days ago, I knew I had to recreate it. I'm very into the aztec print trend and when I found a plain white tank in my craft drawer, I couldn't hold back!

wildfox diy steps

1. The supplies you will need are: a long white tank (mine is an XL men's tank from H&M given to me by a friend when he cleaned out his closet), black fabric paint, a paintbrush, and a canvas.

As a side note, I was confident enough in my painting skills that I did this freehand. If you aren't you can make your own stamps and do it that way. I have a tutorial on craft foam stamped tops here !

2. I stretched my tank over a plain canvas to create some structure while I painted. You could also do this with cardboard, but this was my first time with a canvas and it was great!

3. Begin painting (or stamping) your design on. Start in the center and work outwards in order to keep things symmetrical.

4. Continue applying your design. If you are finding that the paint isn't fluid enough, mix in a little bit of water.

And here is the finished product. I am just too pleased with this because it is so similar to the original and well, I saved $86!

Stay tuned in the next few days because I am going to style this tank in an outfit post as soon as it stops raining!

DIY_Removable Boot Tassels

DSC_0954 Fringe is an embellishment that I want on a lot of my accessories such as purses and shoes, but sometimes I want a cleaner, simpler look as well. This DIY is perfect for that! Make these fringe tassels for your favorite plain ankle boots, but the best part? They're just attached with duct tape so they are 100% removable and reusable. Win win.

I learned how to make these from one of the best DIY blogs P.S. I made this. Check out the simple tutorial here and check out my results below!

The only supplies you will need are some faux leather, scissors, and duct tape. I had some faux leather left over from this DIY clutch, but you can find it at fabric stores. P.S. my ankle boots are from Target!

And here is my finished product! I am so excited about these and the fact that I can take them off when they don't exactly work with my outfit.

MONTHLY FAVORITES_December

With the month of December coming to an end, I went into 2013 thinking about a few of my favorite things. This month's favorites are all across the board, from things I got for Christmas (and love) to things I'm lusting over to things I am never realistically going to buy, but like to pretend I own on Polyvore. December Favorites

beauty

1_the infamous beauty blender_ i recently got my knock-off version at TJ Maxx for 6 bucks so check that out if you can. i completely reccomend this beauty tool for blending your foundation, it makes my skin look airbrushed and i don't know how i lived without it! 2_Goody Quikstyle hairbrush_i found this in my Christmas stocking and in my opinion, it really does work! this brush is designed to help your hair dry quicker while you style it with the use of the sponge within the bristles and the vented sides. you can find this product at Walgreens or Target 3_eos Smooth Lipbalm Sphere_also in my stocking, this yummy strawberry sorbet chapstick that hasn't left my side since Christmas morning.

jewelry

1_Maison Margiela for H&M Bracelet_yeah...still kicking myself for not getting my hands on one of these minimalist pieces while they were still in store 2_knuckle ring_my friend Morgan had been a fan of this style of ring for a while now, and I got one for Christmas! it's a great addition to my ring collection. you can see the one I've been wearing by bar III from Macy's in this outfit post. I also like this one from Macy's. 3_state necklace_see my DIY plexiglass Arizona necklace in this outfit post and this one too that I've been wearing non-stop ever since I made it. this is a really cool way to show your hometown pride, especially if you live away from home.

clothing

1_velvet leggings_i'm not sure if its the fact that i was in a hotter climate this month or the relaxation factor that comes with the holidays, but i really was just not in the mood to wear real pants. therefore, i was very grateful to receive an assortment of leggings for gifts, and like these velvet ones I got by HUE from Dillard's. 2_hello red pullover_it's no secret that i'm a sucker for a good crewneck, and this clever one by Hello Merch is one of my current favorites on my wish list. this company is run by one of the former members of my favorite band, The Format, making this sweatshirt even that much cooler. 3_geek sweater_another graphic sweater, i recently got this one at PacSun by the brand Kirra. i've been wearing it a lot lately, but it has yet to make an appearance on the blog. stay tuned for that!

shoes

1_hologram heels_these pumps by Stella McCartney are very on trend. the hologram is the perfect amount futuristic and also attracts my 6-year-old spirit that still loves rainbows and Lisa Frank anything. 2_Leather Sk8-Hi Platform_i covet a new signature pair of Vans every year, and I want these to be on my feet next. similar to the classic Sk8-Hi's, this shoe gets a facelift with a higher platform and leather. i may with go with the classics for the practicality of skateboarding and daily wear, but i like these oh so much. 3_Tardy's_these platform lace up boots by Jeffrey Campbell have been on every fashion bloggers feet lately and I wish I could say the same myself!
