I keep small canvases around for moments when I get a bit bored, so that I can just pull them out and create something, but don't have to put too much thought or stress into it. I just started going with this one, and ended up drawing some 90's poppy fun art complete with trolls, yin yangs, and more. I really like the color scheme of this one, and am thinking about doing something like this to entire skateboard deck! yay? nay? Let me know!
I have been wearing this handmade tee non-stop lately, and when I saw that today's #coasttocoastchallenge was "neon" I had to dress it up and throw on my favorite hot pink crossbody. I'm also dreaming about fancier outfits ever since I found these ankle strap heels at Target the other day, which you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram. I found them for $10 and they are to die for! These shoes are so comparable to many others I've seen for a way higher price, such as these ones on blogger WeWoreWhat for $300+.
I decided to go for a throwback for today's outfit, and chose "Six Feet Under the Stars" by All Time Low. You can say all you want about this band, but I needed a song with some pop to compliment the pop of neon in my purse. Listen along below while you view!

Sorry to have not been around the past few days, my studio this quarter is taking up so much time and work, but I have consistent posts planned for the next few days, so stick around!

I get so excited whenever I get a commission for a new pick guard because they are so small that I can do them quickly, yet I still get to challenge myself with the placement of images and text on such an odd shape. This request was from a guitar-playing biologist, that wanted a gold guard with outline, his initials, and an (accurate) DNA helix. He gave me freedom with choosing the script for his initials, and I decided to use the Gibson guitar font because that's what model this guard will get screwed onto. I am excited to have done another guard and like the eye catching look of this one!
Also check out the video at the bottom of this post to watch the sketching and painting process of this piece!
Thanks for checking out my work! Please check out my Etsy shop if you're interested in a custom guard!
I finally have finished my baby! I call it that because I have put so much time and thought into this board. This is the first (and only) deck I have made by hand; I learned in a skate deck shaping class at my school last year, and this was the result! It then took me a while, but many sketches later I came up with a design. I talk about the design process a bit in the video below, that also gives you some good shots of the art and details. Please check it out, it's a more personal discussion about the art, which I am excited to continue doing in the future!
