Leather is the New Black

IMG_8817 It's starting to get chilly in Copenhagen, and while black is the wardrobe color of choice for the Danes, I've noticed that leather is a close second. Before moving to Denmark, I would have never dared to wear two leather pieces at once, but I've seen countless women rocking their leather jackets + leather pants like it's nobody's business. I followed suit in this outfit pairing my leather sleeved coat with my favorite Unif Morisson pants.

With the weather being pretty cold now, I think I'll be wearing this coat quite a bit. This is the first time I will be style blogging from a cold climate, so I think I will have to start braving the low temps and shed my coat for outfit photos. That should be an interesting experience!

Grow Young

IMG_4670 What better way to beat the heat than to play with the cutout trend? I paired this summery dress with brown leather accessories for a light summer look. Since I had already styled this dress in a quite bohemian way the last time I wore it, I was planning to wear it with combat boots to edge it up. However, my most recent purchase, these gladiator sandals, have me drawn to my tan leather and gold accessories because they are so cute and lightweight.

You may have also noticed a little change, and no, my hair didn't magically grow over night. I bought extensions over the weekend! I used to think hair extensions were strange and not for me, but I hated my recent haircut (remind me never to say 'yes' to layers again) so I figured, why not? If you have any tips on extensions, I'd love to hear them because I'm pretty new to this!

On Site

IMG_4470 I have a bit of a love affair with this building. I drive past it twice a day going to and coming from work, and always sneak a peek as I go by. Yesterday I just had to stop and get a closer look. I love the blue-toned glass front and brick facade. Yeah...I'm basically obsessed with this little structure. But I'll have more on that in another post! As for my outfit, I loved how the rugged exterior went well with my utilitarian vest and purse. Although this purse might look like a girly piece, I consider it utilitarian because it is roomy and has so many pockets, allowing me to tote my DSLR and sketchbook wherever I go.

For work I wore just this dress with a pair of silver Toms and it just felt way too girly for me. I threw on my vest and boots and soon as I got home. Although I couldn't wear this vest to work so I had an exception, I always try remember to stay true to myself and my personal style. It will give you a lot more confidence when you're just being you!

Splish Splash of Color

IMG_3579 This graphic tank is one of my all time favorites, especially in the summertime. I love that the strong graphic is contrasted by more feminine blue and pink colors. Normally I wouldn't go be so match-matchy with my accessories, but I think pops of color are perfect for summertime and decided to have fun complimenting the splashy design in the tee.

Today was super lazy for me. I suppose this is okay for summertime, but I am hoping to kickstart my day tomorrow and get a lot done! For now I am off to spend some time hanging out with friends, because that's what summer is really all about.
