ART_Skull Coffin Deck

IMG_1075 I finally have finished my baby! I call it that because I have put so much time and thought into this board. This is the first (and only) deck I have made by hand; I learned in a skate deck shaping class at my school last year, and this was the result! It then took me a while, but many sketches later I came up with a design. I talk about the design process a bit in the video below, that also gives you some good shots of the art and details. Please check it out, it's a more personal discussion about the art, which I am excited to continue doing in the future!

OOTD_84: "She is Beautiful"

DSC_0719 I now wish I had worn a dress today because it was so warm out, but today I opted for an edgy version of a Valentine's Day look! This Alkaline Trio tee has some red hearts on it, so I started with that and paired it with my favorite red blazer. The rest of the look followed suit from the t shirt in all black, and I finished it off with my spiked headband and new arrow ring! My parents sent me it as a gift today and I love it!

I picked the track for today because it's a sort of unconventional love song by a badass artist, Andrew WK. Listen along here to "She is Beautiful" while you view!

OOTD 83: "7 Minutes in Heaven"

DSC_0693 Today's outfit is full of my favorite pieces: skulls, a DIY tee, denim, leggings, and Vans. Yep, perfect combination. This outfit risks looking very casual, almost like a painting day or something, but adding interest with some textured leggings and a cool acid wash to your shirt can be all the difference you need to spice up the look.

Today's outfit title comes from the Fall Out Boy song "7 Minutes in Heaven." Listen along here while you view! Who else is excited that they're making a comeback? And what did you think of their new song?

I'm on the hunt for more fun leggings like the ones i'm wearing to replace my old black ones that are falling apart. I'm loving these. Have you seen any lately that you love?

DIY_Studded Beanie

DSC_0742 It's been a while since I've posted a DIY, but this is a good one! It's simple, inexpensive, fast, and very on trend. I have seen these beanies for sale online for at least $20. Don't be crazy and pay that price when you can make one for under 5 bucks. Mine was $4! You could even stud one that you already own--even better!

DSC_0718

Start with a cheap beanie. Mine is from the men's section at Target, and was $4 as mentioned before. You will also need around 12 studs, give or take a few. Mine were from a thrifted belt. Speaking of which, that belt has supplied all of my past studding projects for the last 5 months. Score.

DSC_0722

Begin attaching the studs to your beanie. I liked the way mine looked with a folded edge. Attach the studs and fold down the prongs using a tweezer. If you need extra help, check out my tips in this past tutorial of mine.

Continue studding all the way around the edge of your beanie. You can do the spacing however you'd like. This should only take you a few minutes!

And here's the finished product! I loooove how this had added some extra spice to my plain beanie, and adds femininity to something from the men's section.

Thanks so much for checking out this tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it! If you try out this project, I'd love to see the result. Tweet me @PaigePoppe or show it to me on Instagram @punkrockparti and use the hashtag #punkrockparti See you tomorrow!
