DIY_Pegboard Organizer

DSC_0782 Today I found this scrap of pegboard in the wood shop at my school, and I knew I had to make something with it! I decided to go for the most typical use for the material--an organizer. But, I was in desperate need of a way to store all of my bracelets so I couldn't resist!

You will need some pegboard, a drill, 2 screws, and these long strips of hooks which I found at Home Depot for about 2 bucks each.

Simply screw the pegboard into your wall at the top corners. Don't screw all the way into the wall because when you slide in the hooks, they will need to rest against the wall.

Slide in the hooks into the holes. I offset mine for an asymmetrical look.

Finally, hang up your jewelry! You can also use the holes to hang up longer earrings.

And here's the finished product! I'm so happy with this and it was really fast to hang up.

OOTD 71_"Timing is Everything"

DSC_0418 Today's #coasttocoastchallenge was "Winter Whites," which had me realize, I really don't have that much white in my wardrobe. However, I still decided to incorporate some white into my outfit, especially because I've been excited to wear this new sheer blouse I recently got at TJ Maxx. I love the skull detail and think it looks like a top that would be from Brandy Melville, but was only 15 bucks! For another pop of white, I grabbed this grommet-studded clutch that is super cute and worked with the white theme. I've had this baby literally since middle school, and think it's great that it still works with my style!

The track for today's outfit is a song by one of my favorite artists. I listen to this album typically when I work in studio. The song is "Timing is Everything" by Lights. Listen along here while you view, and maybe discover some new music!

OOTD_52

DSC_1022 I'm finally back with a new outfit post, and even better, I am home in Arizona (I took the above photo in my backyard)! I'm loving how this outfit came together. I sometimes find it hard to style this denim vest because of the short crop, but pairing it with this long tunic was the perfect solution. After figuring out the silhouette, I wanted to add some polish so I accessorized with my sparkly Toms and some shiny details with my statement ring and the detailing on my clutch. These outfit can also be easily transformed for cooler weather by throwing a neutral colored hoodie under the vest!

On top of loving this outfit, I'm also proud about how inexpensive all of the pieces are! I encourage you to go thrifting and also to hold back on purchases sometimes until you can find a killer sale. Sometimes you'll get really lucky like I did with these Toms--they would normally retail for $54 dollars, but I found this pair at my local consignment store and paid for them with the credit I received from donating my old clothes!
