"Somebody"

IMG_0992 I slept in a little today, so I was aiming for casual comfort. I haven't worn my geeky sweater in a while, and I figured that since school is starting to pick up again it was a good time to wear it. Normally I wouldn't pair a sweater in a soft blue color with a light washed denim, but since I have been liking the on-trend monochromatic look, I went with it.

For today's outfit track I wanted to share a band with you called Jukebox the Ghost. Jake introduced me to them a while back and since burning the CD I have really enjoyed the album. Listen along below to "Somebody" while you view--it's so catchy!

My roommates were awesome and pulled out a ladder from our side yard recently, so we've been having fun hanging out up there and enjoying the view, both sunsets and stargazing! I've been taking my blog photos up there lately and I have to say its so pretty and relaxing to go up there after I get home from class!

OOTD_94 + Polyvore!

DSC_1081 I am always really inspired by London fashion, and I learn about a lot of it from Youtubers. I think this would be similar to their typical "uni" outfit, which is where I wore this today. As always, my Docs are also great for rainy days. And finally I thought that the blue beanie was a good pop of color to brighten up a neutral toned outfit.

Last night I took a break from my studio work and played around with my Polyvore a bit because I hadn't in a while. I styled some outfits with the "Big Lita" by Jeffrey Campbell, my dream shoe at the moment. You can check out the outfits here!

OOTD 76_"Let Your Love Grow Tall"

DSC_0738 The best thing about Dr. Martens? They double as rain boots. Today was drizzly so I threw mine on over my cathedral leggings. I was excited to style these casually, in contrast to this outfit. Although it's typical to pair crazy pants with black pieces, I wanted to keep the outfit subdued. To add interest, I used layers with sheer and leather details. I topped off the look with my trusty BDG beanie, which is not only stylish, but hides my hair on a messy day when I'm late to class.

The track for today's outfit post is "Let Your Love Grow Tall" by Passion Pit. Listen along below while you view!

I'm loving the scenery in today's photos. Everything turns so green here when it rains that I couldn't resist! I'm working on having more interesting backgrounds in my photos--let me know what you think!

OOTD_67: "Sink or Swim"

DSC_0059 After styling this knit camo cardigan casually in this outfit, I couldn't wait to dress it up as well. Today I paired it with some neutrals, this thrifted chambray top and my favorite leather skater skirt. I love how these three pieces came together, especially how the cardigan hangs over the skirt to tone it down for a school day.

Another highlight of this outfit is my new Jeffrey Campbell Litas! I picked these up at the Plato's Closet in AZ over the weekend for 38 bucks! They were originally marked 65, but I traded in my old clothes and got a 27 dollar credit subtracted off the shoes. I think this may be my best find of the year--and it's not even January yet!

The outfit track today is "Sink or Swim" by a great band, Close to Home. Listen along here while you view! DSC_0117

Before class I swapped out my heels for some tights and flats, but I couldn't resist styling these babies right away!
