OOTD_92 "Dashboard"

DSC_0929 I said in yesterday's outfit post that I thought my vests were going to get a lot of wear this spring, and here I am to prove it!

This outfit was inspired after I watched this "5 Grungy Outfits" video by Claire from heyclaire.com. I think she has great style that is minimal but still edgy and exciting at the same time.

The track for this outfit is "Dashboard" by Modest Mouse that has a laid back vibe for this lazy Saturday. Listen along below while you view!

I also wanted to mention the story behind this graphic tee. For the longest time I considered buying this sweater version from Urban but could never justify the price tag. I ended up finding this similar top at Target for 8 bucks in the men's section. Sometimes you can find the perfect thing in the most unexpected places!

OOTD_81: "Going to California"

DSC_0588 i didn't even plan to shoot my outfit today, but i pulled out this gem of a vintage tee from my closet today and realized i hadn't worn it since finding it at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, and hadn't shown it on my blog since my haul post--so i had to!

today i mixed colored and textures in my look with my outerwear and accessories. i think this outfit has more of an earthy vibe than i usually wear, but i am liking it. of course even when i change it up, some signature edge has found its way into my outfit. studded combat boots? check!

And yes, I'm already in California, but the track for today's outfit is my favorite Led Zeppelin song "Going to California" which I felt went well with the vibe of this look. Listen along here while you view

DSC_0551 Today I wanted to show how I transitioned the same dress from day to night, but when both looks are very casual and involve a lot of basics. The first outfit is what I wore to walk downtown to my favorite coffee shop and study, and the second shows how I added some extra layers for going to studio later in the night.

Although I wore a lot of red in my past two outfit posts, I am finding that I am more drawn to wearing neutrals now that my hair is a bolder color. I really like how the color looks against denim and black. I'll have to experiment with neutrals more in the next few weeks!

Since it was dark while I wanted to shoot this, I ended up in my room. However, I don't mind this because I like showing aspects of my space and one of the latest painting I've been working on!

OOTD 69_"Ace of Spades"

DSC_0255 This morning was sunny but chilly, and I was heading out to get my hair trimmed. I decided to go casual with this thrifted Motorhead tee and then dress it up with my accessories. The warm colors in the shirt pointed me in the direction of my gold jewelry, gold studs, and warm-toned cheetah print flats. This outfit was stylish, yet allowed me to stay comfy when I headed to the library later in the day.

Today's outfit track is of course "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead, what else? Listen along below.

Today was a good and productive day. I normally don't enjoy doing homework on Saturdays, but I did today and have decided this quarter that it will help me be less stressed out. I read a good quote today while waiting at the salon that said it's best to tackle your most difficult tasks first thing, because otherwise you will waste your energy worrying about it and not be as productive in the long run. Something to keep in mind! Today was also the first time I handed out one of my new business cards which was exciting!
