"Bohemian Rhapsody"

20130419-200844.jpg

Although Coachella isn't really my type of music, I will admit that all of the festival fashions I'm seeing on my favorite blogs and Instagram accounts are influencing me! I normally wouldn't go in such a bohemian direction, but when I slipped on this bell-sleeved lace dress from my closet (a past Christmas Eve dress) I couldn't help but pair it with some accessories that put me in a flower child state of mind, rather than my typical studs and spikes.

To get really cliche on you, I chose "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen as tonight's outfit track, just because I rarely dress like this. Listen along below while you view, and enjoy!

Also, I know I promised that today would be an art post, but I couldn't help but share my outfit with you guys! Sometimes it is fun to dress out of your comfort zone and try a different style!

DSC_0551 Today I wanted to show how I transitioned the same dress from day to night, but when both looks are very casual and involve a lot of basics. The first outfit is what I wore to walk downtown to my favorite coffee shop and study, and the second shows how I added some extra layers for going to studio later in the night.

Although I wore a lot of red in my past two outfit posts, I am finding that I am more drawn to wearing neutrals now that my hair is a bolder color. I really like how the color looks against denim and black. I'll have to experiment with neutrals more in the next few weeks!

Since it was dark while I wanted to shoot this, I ended up in my room. However, I don't mind this because I like showing aspects of my space and one of the latest painting I've been working on!

today was slightly rainy but also sort of warm so i opted for this thin sweater. i added my favorite tapestry clutch to add some color to the outfit, but the subdued colors are great for fall!

isn't this bracelet awesome? it was made by my friend Alana and the beads spell out an inside joke between us in morse code!!

SHOE UNBOXING_Target Moccasins

so...im LOVING the Mossimo brand moccasins I picked up from Target recently. As you may have seen in my August Favorites post (here) I had been wanting some moccasins because I really didn't have any brown shoes in my wardrobe and I needed some cozy and comfortable footwear for fall. I had seen some Minnetonka brand mocs on sale at TJ Maxx and while I was excited about the deal, they just weren't the color or style I wanted. That's why I was so excited to find these at Target for only 20 bucks! I love the color, the fact that they are booties, and the fringe and braid detail around the ankles. I have already been wearing these almost every night when I go to my studio at night--so I highly recommend them!
