Into the Great Wide Open

IMG_1755 Finally a cold day has passed through and I got to pull out my prized Unif AWOL jacket. Since buying it in Chicago I hadn't had a chance to wear it, but today was the day. Lately I'm loving the look of neon mixed with neutrals (especially camo as a neutral) even though I think this trend is a little out of style, but I could care less about that. When you're going to wear one of your favorite pieces in your closet, why not throw on another? Which for me are my vintage Docs. They just complete an outfit so well in my opinion.

Today's outfit track is one that I felt went well with the camp/neon/tye-dye coming from this outfit. Listen along to "Into the Great Wide Open" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers while you view, here!

P.S. How awesome are these nails I got at Target? They are stick-on with a simple peel-off back, but they seriously last so long. They feel really strong on my nails and even made it through a beach day this weekend. Obsessed!

OOTD_99 "American Girl"

DSC_1303 well i think it's safe to say that spring is here. however, i haven't just realized this because of the weather, but by how i am dressing. i find myself reaching for fringe, hats, colorful pieces, and have started stacking on the rings. this is all resulting in outfits that i feel are great for festival season. although i've stuck to small concerts rather than Coachella, these outfits have been the perfect compliment to extra daylight and warm sun (that i'm soaking in as i blog from my porch).

although this outfit isn't red, white, and blue, i think it's laid back vibe says americana which is why i chose today's outfit track to be "American Girl" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. just listen along here and you'll understand.

OOTD_81: "Going to California"

DSC_0588 i didn't even plan to shoot my outfit today, but i pulled out this gem of a vintage tee from my closet today and realized i hadn't worn it since finding it at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, and hadn't shown it on my blog since my haul post--so i had to!

today i mixed colored and textures in my look with my outerwear and accessories. i think this outfit has more of an earthy vibe than i usually wear, but i am liking it. of course even when i change it up, some signature edge has found its way into my outfit. studded combat boots? check!

And yes, I'm already in California, but the track for today's outfit is my favorite Led Zeppelin song "Going to California" which I felt went well with the vibe of this look. Listen along here while you view

OOTD 73_"The Future Freaks Me Out"

DSC_0409 I picked up these red (pink?) shoes at Target yesterday for only 10 bucks! I knew I had a blazer in my closet that matched perfectly, but honestly didn't plan on wearing them together. However, when I came home and tried them on, I decided they would look great together for a graphic look. Adding this printed blouse was the perfect way to make this outfit bold. I finished with clear jewelry that wouldn't compete with the loud colors and prints.

The track for today's outfit is "The Future Freaks Me Out" by Motion City Soundtrack in honor of the announcement that they'll be on Warped Tour this summer. So. Excited. Listen along below while you view!

This outfit would look great with a plain white blouse as well, and would be a good way to pair all of your basics together for one great outfit!
