Timelapse Painting of Sacre Couer

When you visit the Sacre Couer basilica in Paris, you are struck by the bright white travertine contrasting against the blue, cloudless sky of the Montmartre neighborhood.

I wanted to exaggerate that beautiful contest in this painting, using a denim canvas to recreate the bright blue Parisian sky.

This painting will be on display along with a large body of my work for my solo exhibition this month at MoonAge Gallery in Tempe! If you are local, I would love to see you at the opening reception this Friday October 30th, from 6 to 9 PM.

When inspiration strikes late at night, you can't let it pass you by.

You guys know I have felt the need lately to be a bit more messy + do some mindless drawing and painting, so I purchased a couple new sketchbooks for that reason. They arrived Friday, but I had a chance to draw in them for the first time last night.

It was late and I probably should have been sleeping, but I ended up doing 3 sketches that may have been pretty messy, but were so creatively fulfilling because there were no rules and no boundaries to what I was creating.

As you guys know, I have been wanting to incorporate more architecture and architectural drawing back into my work, so I am finally making time for that and exploring it!
