DSC_0551 Today I wanted to show how I transitioned the same dress from day to night, but when both looks are very casual and involve a lot of basics. The first outfit is what I wore to walk downtown to my favorite coffee shop and study, and the second shows how I added some extra layers for going to studio later in the night.

Although I wore a lot of red in my past two outfit posts, I am finding that I am more drawn to wearing neutrals now that my hair is a bolder color. I really like how the color looks against denim and black. I'll have to experiment with neutrals more in the next few weeks!

Since it was dark while I wanted to shoot this, I ended up in my room. However, I don't mind this because I like showing aspects of my space and one of the latest painting I've been working on!

when i headed out for class this morning it was super cold so i thought i'd have some fun with layering. there's a lot of different colors going on, but they're all neutrals so i think it works well! i also was jonesing to wear my latest ebay find, the Metallica tee i've been wanting forever so i threw that in the mix. this outfit transitioned well for evening when i went to farmers market and dinner with my dad who was in town! xo

for my outfit today i couldn't wait to wear the new printed BDG denim i got at urban yesterday at their big fall sale. i got these for only 20 bucks and was so excited because they're high waisted, printed with an abstracted snakeskin pattern, and are a great color for fall! i really needed some jeans that i could wear with black pieces that weren't black!

as a side note--i promise my blacks matched a lot better than the pictures show, i think it was just the lighting!
