Salt City Painting Video + Contest

Hey friends!

I've been busy painting a ton of new custom decks lately, but one is extra special, because it involves you guys!

I designed + painted this monster theme deck for a rad apparel brand called Salt City Emporium! All of their clothing graphics are hand-illustrated, so it was a perfect match!

We have teamed up and are running a #SALTYSK8 contest for a custom deck! If you know a child under 7, submit their artwork on Instagram for a chance to win. You can learn more in my Instagram post!

Even if you don't know a little one to enter the contest, I hope you'll enjoy my latest skateboard painting video!

You guys know how much I *love* making these behind-the-scenes videos, so thank you for watching and following along!

Behind the Scenes: Music Inspired Deck

Happy Tuesday friends!

This skateboard painting is one that I finished in the summertime, but is still one of my favorites to this day! This was a custom commission inspired by lyrics from the pop punk band Four Year Strong.

As you can see in the behind-the-scenes video, I made this deck by hand! It always feels special to make the entire process by hand from start to finish.

I especially loved this piece because it really brought out the beauty within the wood. Like honestly, how gorgeous is that stain?!

I have been on a roll with these painting videos lately so I hope you are enjoying them! There are many more to come :)

Thanks so much for watching! Don't forget to come on over to my Youtube channel to subscribe + leave a comment. They make my day!

Summer Daze

Admittedly, I've come to enjoy my weekdays more than my weekends this summer. I love waking up and getting to work on a new painting. That being said, I need to take more time to lounge on the patio, sketch, and listen to some records...

I'll be heading back to California next week, and then starting school soon after. With more on my plate, I'm sure I'll be enjoying my weekends that much more!

Pastel Summer

I never expected to be inspired by bohemian motifs and pastels this summer...

But, something about the Arizona desert, the heat, and lazy days have changed my mind.

One of the first handmade decks I painted was this one, featuring a geometric design, with a cow skull wearing a flower crown.

I like this design because it displays the beautiful natural wood of the deck. This is something I always try to preserve in my design, even if its just a sliver of revealed wood.

Here's to an inspirational + dreamy summer in the desert.
