OOTD // Packing Up

IMG_3053 Today I have been packing up my studio and room in preparation for leaving at the end of the week. I actually may have to leave a day later than planned, but I will share why in the next few days! In order to stay stylish yet functional, I paired one of my go-to muscle tees with some durable boots. Finally, the gold-toned accessories and sunnies are then keeping the look a little polished.

Notice the large piece of plywood? Despite being obsessed with this texture for photo backgrounds lately, I am working on a special DIY to give my roommates as going away gift because I won't be seeing them for a year. More on that later this week!

Who You Callin'?

Photo Apr 20, 5 37 17 PM Yesterday was productive and creative, I spent the day working on a few projects from home. My friends and I then decided to walk down to the local record store from our house to celebrate Record Store Day. I love that we can walk to such fun places, and we were surprised to see local bands playing in the back so we stayed and listened to a couple sets before picking up a few records, which I'm listening to now!

One of the local bands playing was Proxima Parada. I have heard about these guys forever but had never listened to their music. It was amazing! I couldn't believe how good their voices were. I think you guys will enjoy them too! Listen along to their song "Who You Callin'?" here, and also check out their other music!

"Bohemian Rhapsody"

20130419-200844.jpg

Although Coachella isn't really my type of music, I will admit that all of the festival fashions I'm seeing on my favorite blogs and Instagram accounts are influencing me! I normally wouldn't go in such a bohemian direction, but when I slipped on this bell-sleeved lace dress from my closet (a past Christmas Eve dress) I couldn't help but pair it with some accessories that put me in a flower child state of mind, rather than my typical studs and spikes.

To get really cliche on you, I chose "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen as tonight's outfit track, just because I rarely dress like this. Listen along below while you view, and enjoy!

Also, I know I promised that today would be an art post, but I couldn't help but share my outfit with you guys! Sometimes it is fun to dress out of your comfort zone and try a different style!

OOTD_86: Studio Review

DSC_0762 Today was my mid-review for studio, so I always like to wear a dress or skirt, and wear something that is professional but still exciting. This dress is a go to in my closet because it's a neutral but it still bold and graphic. The cut of it really suits being paired with an oversized blazer like this one. You may remember this outfit a while back as well where I styled this dress for a school day. Finally, it's great to add a decisive pop of color to your outfit when making a presentation, so I finished off my look with this bright statement necklace I made a while back. This was a piece of a small "collection" my friend Ariana and I worked on a while back, which I plan to share more on later. This quarter we have been experimenting with other students and our professor with digitally fabricated jewelry which is really exciting!

Don't forget you can always quickly change up your look with your hair! I tried a middle part today because I feel like my hair is finally long enough, and I really liked how it streamlined my look.
