French Stripes at Villa Savoye

IMG_9978 I am back from Paris! It was a great trip and I thought I wouldn't waste any time getting an outfit post up since I have been absent for a few days! On Wednesday, my three friends and I took the RER train to Poissy to visit Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye. This home is a big ticket item on any architect lovers to-do list, so I was in awe being able to see it in person. We got super lucky with the weather; it was a warm and sunny day, something we are lacking in Denmark right now. I seized the moment by wearing a dress...and a striped one at that! I would be lying if I said packing stripes for France was unintentional, which you'll confirm in my next style post as well!

Although I mentioned that it was nice and sunny in Poissy, its still fall and that means I can't get away with just wearing a tank dress and tights anymore. I have a couple of tricks that help me stay warm that don't interfere with my outfit. Tip #1: Layer a long sleeved tee under your summer dress and then cover it up with your leather jacket! Tip #2: Throw some thigh-high socks over your socks. This extra layer isn't hidden, but that doesn't matter because its super on trend at the moment!

I will have my travel photos from Paris up this week so look forward to that! Thanks for stopping by the blog today, it's good to be back! x. Paige

What I Wore: Vitra Haus

IMG_8428 As I mentioned the other day, one of the sites I was most excited for was Herzog and de Meuron's Vitra Haus in Whilm Am Rhein, Germany. It proved to be even better than I imagined. This building is a mix between a museum and a store, which sells furniture designed by the next-door Swiss company, Vitra. Besides having beautiful architecture, all of the furnishings were gorgeous and modern, and were styled differently in each "house." This is why the design of the Vitra Haus is so genius. Each of the archetypal house volumes creates spaces that feel like a home, so that when you shop for the furniture, you can imagine it in your own home.

When traveling, I try not to be too fussy with outfits, and just pack a lot of functional pieces so that I can site-see with ease. My staples for this tour were definitely my black raincoat, black infinity scarf, and studded combats because they go with everything. To keep my looks from not getting too basic I like to throw in a print, like this polka dot denim, instead of a plain pair of jeans.

What do you wear when you travel? Thanks for reading! x. Paige

Travel Style in Austria

IMG_8059 I am back from my study tour across Europe! Now that I am home from the trip, I feel so lucky to have had this experience. One of my friends dubbed it an "architecture safari" which I think is a pretty spot-on way to sum it up. We saw so many buildings that I have only studied in pictures and articles, and seeing them in real life was so exciting. I can't wait to show you guys photos + videos from this trip and will work on some posts to sum it all up! But until then, I documented a few outfits along the way that I can share with you over the next few days.

These photos were taken in St. Gerold, Austria, outside the St. Gerold Community Center. It's a little funny considering that I just raved about the architecture, because this building wasn't a hot item on my to-see list. But it was a nice little design [my favorite parts were the wood joinery of the stairs and the weathered wooden facade] and the foggy weather was a fun setting. By the way, these photos make it look a lot colder than it actually was...we had some great weather for the entire trip which made it even better!

I can't wait to show you guys this sweater dress in a future outfit post when it won't be covered up by my raincoat. My mom found this baby on clearance at the H&M in Arizona before I left and we thought I could just wear it while lounging around at home. To my surprise when I was out shopping in København, I spotted it in the store in the trend section at full price and have seen a couple girls wearing a similar style out in the city. Lucky me! I can't wait to take it out again for a spin soon!

Utilitarian Layering in Malmö

IMG_7634 At 10 AM this morning my friends and I hopped on a train to hang out in Malmö for the day! Sweden is only an inexpensive 25 minute train ride from my apartment, and with a free day to explore we figured why not? Since being gone for an entire day necessitates being prepared for anything, I decided to work with layering a dress, tank top, tights, and a rain jacket. I think the colorful tank top kept the look from being too basic. Although this coat is your pretty standard black rain jacket, I love that it is cinched at the waist. It still gives me a shape and feels feminine!

My friends Elsa, Sheila, and I had a fun adventure today! Malmö is a bit smaller than I expected, but we got to see the famous Turning Torso building, and a few other cool finds like this bridge in the harbor. I thought you might like to see my lovely friends and what they were wearing as well! Aren't they the cutest? They are the best for always putting up with my outfit documentation.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having some fun adventures in your city! x. Paige
