OOTD_98 "The Number of the Beast"

DSC_1249 One of my favorite items in my closet has to be this Iron Maiden muscle tee that I got off of eBay a while back. As always, eBay never lets me down and the seller that sold me the shirt actually messaged me and asked me if I wanted 2 more. Of course I snagged them up (for 5 bucks each) and am styling one today. I paired it will this sheer skull blouse. This is the first time I've worn it unbuttoned over another top but I'm loving it!

The track for today's outfit is "The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden, of course. Listen along here while you view!

OOTD_97 Final Review

DSC_1172 Today was my final review for studio. I can't believe how fast this quarter has gone, but I think it's because I really enjoyed what I was learning and working on all quarter. I'm going to share more about my project this week, but for now, this is the outfit I wore!

I am really liking how this rose gold necklace adds something extra to an all black outfit. I pulled out my leather moto jacket, but layered a linen moto underneath so I would still have the look even if I got warm and took off my jacket. A little double layering action!

OOTD_58

DSC_1416 I was out Christmas shopping and as hard as I try to not buy anything for myself before the holidays, when I saw this knit camo cardigan, I had to get it. I love that this on-trend print is done in a new way with a knit, and I had seen sweaters like these for much higher prices on Asos and one from LF stores. So since I had been scouting out a sweater like this and PacSun was having a sale, I decided it was worth the buy. I styled the outfit quite casually for a day of hanging out doing DIY projects and watching movies with my friend, but I'm excited to style it with a skirt in the future!

I'm also back to including a music track with my outfit post and while we were working on said projects, A Day to Remember was the soundtrack of choice. Enjoy!

DIY_Camo Vest with Leather Studded Trim

intro So in the process of searching for the perfect camo jacket, I ended up buying two and not liking the fit of the first one I purchased from Amazon. Instead of returning it, I decided to transform it into a vest with a better fit and also added some cool details. I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

If you're not interested in making this piece, I'm actually selling this vest on my Etsy shop! You can check it out here. (ED: This item is now sold).

Here's the jacket that I started with.

I started by cutting off the sleeves.

I then make another set of cuts to make the sleeves more flattering. Start a couple inches in from the edge of the sleeve, and curve the cut down to the existing bottom of the sleeve.

DSC_1254

I then cut off the bottom for a cuter fit.

DSC_1257

I cut a piece of faux leather to fit the size of one pocket flap and attached it to the vest with tacky glue. You can find this kind of material and your typical fabric store. It is the same fabric that I used for my DIY Leather + Vinyl Clutch tutorial.

I then just added 5 silver pyramid studs to finish off the look. You can see my tips for adding studs to clothing, here.

And here's the finished product! Good luck with your own projects, or buy it on my Etsy here. (ED: The item is now sold).
