OOTD_94 + Polyvore!

DSC_1081 I am always really inspired by London fashion, and I learn about a lot of it from Youtubers. I think this would be similar to their typical "uni" outfit, which is where I wore this today. As always, my Docs are also great for rainy days. And finally I thought that the blue beanie was a good pop of color to brighten up a neutral toned outfit.

Last night I took a break from my studio work and played around with my Polyvore a bit because I hadn't in a while. I styled some outfits with the "Big Lita" by Jeffrey Campbell, my dream shoe at the moment. You can check out the outfits here!

OOTD 83: "7 Minutes in Heaven"

DSC_0693 Today's outfit is full of my favorite pieces: skulls, a DIY tee, denim, leggings, and Vans. Yep, perfect combination. This outfit risks looking very casual, almost like a painting day or something, but adding interest with some textured leggings and a cool acid wash to your shirt can be all the difference you need to spice up the look.

Today's outfit title comes from the Fall Out Boy song "7 Minutes in Heaven." Listen along here while you view! Who else is excited that they're making a comeback? And what did you think of their new song?

I'm on the hunt for more fun leggings like the ones i'm wearing to replace my old black ones that are falling apart. I'm loving these. Have you seen any lately that you love?

DIY_Craft Foam Stamped Top

DSC_0106 It's no secret that stamped tees have been circulating the blogosphere, and I wanted to make my own. This top is great because you have the freedom to make any design you want by making the stamps yourself out of craft foam! It's also very inexpensive because foam costs less than 70 cents and my fabric paint was $1.59. Enjoy!

DSC_0049

The supplies you will need are: a shirt (mine was $5 at Wal-Mart), some fabric paint, craft foam, scissors, a paper plate, adhesive/glue, a pen, and a paintbrush (optional)

DSC_0050

Begin by cutting your desired shape out of the craft foam. Mine was a triangle in two different sizes. After cutting one shape, trace it onto the craft foam twice and create two more identical shapes.

DSC_0053

Stack and adhere the three identical shapes together with some glue or sticky squares like I did because I couldn't find any glue...

DSC_0054

Attach the stack to a square piece of craft foam to create the stamp. Spread the fabric paint onto the paper plate and dip your stamp into the paint. Make sure you have even coverage.

DSC_0057

Begin stamping your desired pattern onto the shirt. I alternated between the two sizes, and had the triangles pointing both up and down. I also created sets of two or three triangles for variation.

DSC_0056

You can also go in with a paintbrush if your stamp didn't create a completely filled in triangle shape, and just touch up the design a little.

And here's the finished printed shirt! I'm really pleased with this top and it was very inexpensive. This is a good way to spice up a basic top while still keeping it as a neutral.

Check back a later tomorrow when I feature this top in my outfit of the day post!

ootd intro I rode my bike out to the desert today, which is basically my backyard, and it was gorgeous! The location is awesome with the Papago Buttes in one direction and Camelback mountain in the other. I brought my camera along and decided to turn my outing into an outfit post!

Today I wanted to style these amazing liquid leggings that I recently got at Wal-Mart of all places. I've been wanting some "leather" leggings and I really love these because they also have a snakeskin print. I paired them with an oversized tank because they are shiny and tight, and topped it off with my DIY Camo Vest that you may recognize from my tutorial.
