Grow Young

IMG_4670 What better way to beat the heat than to play with the cutout trend? I paired this summery dress with brown leather accessories for a light summer look. Since I had already styled this dress in a quite bohemian way the last time I wore it, I was planning to wear it with combat boots to edge it up. However, my most recent purchase, these gladiator sandals, have me drawn to my tan leather and gold accessories because they are so cute and lightweight.

You may have also noticed a little change, and no, my hair didn't magically grow over night. I bought extensions over the weekend! I used to think hair extensions were strange and not for me, but I hated my recent haircut (remind me never to say 'yes' to layers again) so I figured, why not? If you have any tips on extensions, I'd love to hear them because I'm pretty new to this!

DIY_Patched Denim Jacket + Video

DIY INTRO Today I've got a classic DIY project for you, a patched denim jacket. While you may know how to sew on a patch, I wanted to share the little patch collection I've been building for a few months now, and how my final product turned out! I was also wanting to play around with my new camera now that I could record HD video, and this seemed to be the perfect project to start with! Check out my video, or see the photos of my jacket below!

I picked up this jacket over the summer at Goodwill. You may remember it from this outfit post!

Thanks so much for reading! I'll be back tomorrow with an outfit post wearing my jacket!

OOTD_53

53 intro Yesterday I went out shopping with my mom at the mall to find some presents for our family. Since I was limited to how much I could pack in my suitcase for the trip home (and trust me, my bag was exactly 50 pounds) I've been searching in my closet to find some pieces that haven't gotten much use in the past. I picked up these Doc Marten dupes for around 5 dollars at Wal-Mart in high school. They're a little big but I stuffed some tissue in the toes because I wanted to wear them so bad! I finished off the casual look with some DIYs--my painted top and the plexiglass rings I'm wearing!

If you like the rings I'm wearing, stay tuned this week for a future post. My friend Ariana and I have designed some jewelry pieces like these that will be for sale soon!
